MEMBER SPOTLIGHT ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Tile Design by Edelstein project work Edelstein designed and installed this entryway mosaic medallion, cutting slate into strips and turning them on edge to show off the complex strati- fication. She was awarded the 2010 TileLetter Residential Mosaic Grand Prize. This detail shot is from the 2013 Coverings Residential Stone Design award project Dragonflower Vine. This 500-sq.-ft. project is a stone, glass, mirror and pebble mosaic gar- den pathway. All pieces were hand- cut, assembled into “tiles” in Edelstein’s studio and then installed on site. This is one of three mosaic mural walls created by tile art- ist Clare Dohna for the new Pike Place Market expansion. Edelstein designed the installation pro- tocol and installed the murals with the assistance of the artist. TileLetter | October 2018 103
