He brings extensive indus- try knowledge and is already immersed in his new role. Prior to his position with The Tile Shop, Holcomb started his career as a general contractor/tile contractor in Atlanta, and became director of sales and marketing for the Blanke Corporation, where he led its efforts to expand its pres- ence in North America. Blanke – Jason Waddell and Zuri Abramson join as the new Southeastern Regional sales man- ager and administrative manager, respectively. Waddell brings new focus and service to local custom- ers in the Southeast, and Abramson is in charge of inputting orders, answering customer inquiries, and customer service. LATICRETE – Matthew Carli has joined the company as manager, Business Development, with the LATICRETE Marketing team. He reports to Sean Boyle, LATICRETE senior director, Marketing & Product Management. Carli’s responsibilities will include financial forecasting and market research. Carli began with LATICRETE as a member of the management trainee program in 2013. This program requires partici- pants to complete rotations of eight core functional areas to acquire a broad knowledge and understanding of the organization and its business units. Before joining LATICRETE, Carli was marketing coordinator for Clean SourceTechnologies in China, an OEM manufacturer of cleaning equipment. Carli received his MBA in International Business from St. John’s University in Rome, Italy. He is fluent in Spanish and Italian and has lived abroad in several coun- tries. Carli lives in Hamden, Conn., with his wife and son. INDUSTRY NEWS —————— Virginia Tile Co. purchases RBC Tile & Stone VirginiaTile, a distributor of ceram- ic, porcelain, stone and glass tile, recently purchased RBC, a whole- sale distributor of tile and stone. Virginia Tile was founded in 1928 and distributes tile in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. It serves residential and commercial contractors, deal- ers and other trade professionals. Founded in 1959, RBC has six locations serving Minnesota, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. “We have known RBC for many years and have worked closely with them to secure a number of com- mercial projects in out-of-market situations,” saidWilliam Stephenson Sr., president and CEO of Virginia Tile. “RBC shares many of the same 94 TileLetter | November 2016
