The environment had to be high- ly functional and in keeping with this very modern facility for athletes, coaches and offi- cials. The overall design, including the locker room area, also had to fit in with the TCU facility’s philoso- phy of engender- ing a campus that houses a student body of upward of 10,000 students in an urban envi- ronment, yet gives everyone – stu- dents, athletes, visitors, adminis- trators, staff and donors – a feeling of home. Toaddtothechallenge,theDallas- based, full-service architectural firm Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford devel- oped specifications that included the use of cutting-edge products that they never used before.
