Arizona Tile reviewed tile sales by region and related topping the sales list in each area. www.arizonatile.com What’s hot in 2017? • Anaheim, CA: Wood plank porce- lain, metallic-look flooring, marble looks in all product groups, quartz countertops, shapes and texture. • San Diego, CA: Dimensional/tex- tured porcelain tiles, subtle pat- terns, concrete looks, arabesque, hex, etc. Customers are starting to look for more interesting shapes other than squares. • Livermore, CA: Wood look, con- crete look, metal look, 3D, and marble-look porcelain tiles. • Austin, TX: Modern contemporary style o Wood look tiles o Concrete and metal-look tile o Quartz, especially the ones that resemble marble and concrete o Clean and sleek design o Geometric tile patterns • Tempe, AZ: More modern style, but with warm accents. Concrete looks, as well as tile with patterns. • Denver, CO: Painted brick look (both matte and glazed finish), fun shapes and colors of tiles and glass. Porcelain marble looks. Popular sizes • Anaheim, CA: Broad range • San Diego, CA: Definitely larger for- mats, 18” x 36” and 24” x 48” are con- stantly requested. Also smaller rect- angular tiles like 2” x 8” and 4” x 12” • Livermore, CA: 8” x 36” for wood look; 12” x 24” for other looks • Austin, TX: 12”x 24,” 16” x 24,” 16” x 32,” 24”x 24” • Tempe, AZ: Large format tiles (12”x 24” or larger), and smaller brick sized tiles and tile with a unique shape (Jumbo Hex). • Denver, CO: Larger sizes of porce- lain and brick shape starting at 2” x 8” and up. Thin porcelain tile Though thin porcelain tile has not been in demand in Arizona Tile loca- tions in San Diego, Livermore, Tempe or Denver, other locations have seen some activity. • Anaheim, CA: Certainly for com- mercial it will continue to grow, not as likely for residential. • Austin, TX: Some tile manufactur- ers are starting to produce large- size porcelain slabs 3mm thin. These are great for countertops and light enough for shower wall applications, and popular in the commercial field. Glass mosaics/ Metallics • Anaheim, CA: More metallic and glass, new shapes. • San Diego, CA: Metallic looks are popular, but we’ve seen demand go down for actual metallic tiles. We are however still seeing a demand for glass. • Livermore, CA: Larger glass tiles and metallic tiles. • Austin, TX: Glass is always a great accent for any room. It can be used in many different applications as well as kitchen and bathrooms. o Most popular are subway glass, chevron shaped, and stacked. o Glass will always be around in the industry. It can be combined with so many different styles. o Metal has a more modern industrial look to it. I have seen more metal applications in com- mercial projects. • Tempe, AZ: Customers love large- format porcelain with a metallic fin- REGIONAL SALES (continued) Marble looks in all product groups and coun- tertops are hot in 2017, like Arizona Tile’s BKS Palais. Popular pairings include concrete looks like Reside (wall and floor), and handmade-look (the patterned Cementine inset), accented with QT metal liners in iron, all from Arizona Tile.
