He is a voting member of the ANSI A108 Subcommittee for Ceramic Tile Installation, rep- resents the association on the Tile Council of North America Handbook Committee, and has served as an NTCA board member for ten years. NTCA recognizes founding companies at 70th anniversary celebration Established in 1947, the NTCA celebrated 70 years of leadership in the tile and stone industry during Coverings last month, in Orlando, Fla. The association held a spe- cial awards ceremony on Thursday, April 6. David Allen Company and Artcraft Granite, Marble and Tile were both presented with awards for their contributions to the asso- ciation over the years. David Allen Company (DAC), of Raleigh, N.C., founding member of the NTCA, has been active in the association for all 70 years. As one of the leading commercial tile con- tractors in the country, DAC has been recognized by multiple orga- nizations over the years for their commitment to excellence. DAC’s Bob Roberson is the only person to ever serve two executive com- mittee terms for the association, and is a Ring of Honor Recipient. Martin Howard and Chris Walker, both of DAC, currently serve the association as president and first vice president, respectively. Artcraft Granite Marble and Tile Company in Mesa, Ariz., was founded by John Woelfel and has been a member for many years. The Woelfel family has been a fixture at NTCA events and has made a sig- nificant contribution to the associa- tion and the tile industry with their support spanning three generations.
