On September 10 2015 Atlanta governor Nathan Deal signed a proclamation for Careers in Construction Week in Georgia. Bradford Denny of Nichols Tile Terrazzo Co. Joelton Tenn. Denny is the moderator of the NTCA Members and the Regional and State Directors Facebook pages. More importantly Denny introduced the NTCA to the Tile Geeks Facebook page through which NTCA has increased mem- bership by more than 30 new members. Brad has been a con- stant voice promoting NTCA in all forms of social media. Tom Ade Ceramic Tile Scholarship Award NTCA announced recipients of its first-ever NTCA Tom Ade Ceramic Tile Scholarship Award during the awards ceremony. Two students were selected out of 16 nominees. The Scholarship was established by the NTCA to provide educa- tional opportunities in college or trade for children or grandchil- dren of NTCA contractor members. It was respectfully named after Tom Ade a former NTCA regional director and a previous recipient of NTCAs Ring Of Honor and Tile Person of the Year Awards. Through his generosity and support of train- ing and education funds were earmarked to launch this scholar- ship. The association hopes to raise additional funds to offer multiple scholarships to deserving appli- cants in the future. Jan Hohn NTCA state director from St. Paul Minnesota and last years Tile Person of the Year recipi- ent presented this first 5000 award to Connor Meehan son of Tom and Lane Meehan of Cape CodTileworks in Harwich Mass. The scholar- ship will be to Meehans college of choice. His father accepted the award on his behalf since Connor was traveling outside the country. A second 2500 Tom Ade Ceramic Tile scholarship award was made to Brianne Martinho daughter of Robert and Melanie Martinho of Visalia Ceramic Tile a Five Star Contractor.
